The Home Jewelry of Lisa Jarvis
One of the biggest complaints we often hear from new customers is that the typical hardware options out there are often drab and uninteresting. This is, of course, why our clients come to see us. People want the subtle accents and details of their home to be as inspirational as the rest of the architecture and design, not just another cabinet handle off the shelf at your local box hardware store. Our passion is finding beauty and magic in the tiny details and that focus inevitably led us to one of the most creative and enthusiastic hardware designers in the industry. This month, Premium Hardware is proud to feature the brilliant work of Lisa Jarvis.
Beautiful Home Hardware by Lisa Jarvis
Lisa designed her first decorative hardware nearly three years ago with the intention of bringing some artistic expression to the world of home hardware. Her approach echoes Deco and Mid-Century styles with the philosophy that hardware is the jewelry of the home and should receive the same level of sophistication and aesthetic design. We couldn’t agree more!
“I see cabinet doors and drawer faces as open canvasses,” Lisa says of her work. “Interior designers and architects react to my collection the same way. They tell me, ‘We’ve been looking for unique hardware like yours for years!’”
It’s easy to see why. Browsing the product lines on the Lisa Jarvis website, you’ll see a plethora of unique, intricately thought-out pieces that evoke a certain feeling and send your imagination for a ride. Her trademarked Jewelry for Furniture TM line has gorgeous drawer pulls, cabinet knobs, and door handles that completely change your vision of what home hardware can be. Her pieces have cute and clever names to give them a kind of identity and personality all their own, including names like Bryan, Oomph, and Healing Circle. She also boasts a children’s hardware line called The Sophisticated Child, offering adorable dresser knobs and hardware pieces that capture the spirit of playfulness and wonder that everyone wants to evoke in their child’s bedroom or nursery.
Where Art Meets Function
Lisa comments of her line, “Jewelry For Furniture is unique in the industry for its quality and design impact. What happens to designers and architects is they come to hardware at the very end of the design process because it’s all the same and, frankly, all a bore. All they see are ‘handles’ and, up to now, they’ve been right. We see art. We literally transform drawer and door faces, which often have the most visual real estate in most kitchens and bathrooms. We look at them as canvasses waiting for creativity.”
What a refreshing concept in the hardware design space and something our team certainly rallies behind. We encourage all of our designers and customers to explore the many wonders of the Lisa Jarvis line and think outside the box on your next home interior design project.
